I am SO DANG excited to be sharing this new series with you! This little idea has been in my brain for the past year (or more), and I finally did something about it. Hallelujah! I'm calling it my "Feature Friday".
Finding my people was one of the best things to ever happen to me in the "social media" world. haha DON'T roll your eyes! I'm dead serious. And when I tell you that my surface design friends are the sweetest, most kind-hearted, and loving type of people out there...I mean it. Finding this community of like-minded women has been one of the most fun and encouraging things for me, and I totally regret not trying to find them sooner!
Sooo I thought it would be great to share my friends (and their insane talents and insight) with you. I love seeing other people's strengths, learning more about their backstories, and hearing some good advice from their art journey! Hopefully you can take away something that will help you in yours, and make a new friend along the way. (sidenote: If this could be a podcast, it would be. haha but for now...you get some fun posts to read!)
The person I wanted to share with you all today, is Jen. I honestly can't even remember exactly when I met her online, except that we were in this surface design world in 2020 (haha Jen correct me if I'm wrong!). Jen impressed me with her adorable whimsical style and you're going to die over all her cute designs.
Hi! I’m Jen Glover, the artist behind Juniper Row Design. I’m a mom to two wonderful little girls that bring me so much joy and inspiration. Some of my favorite things include iced coffee, nature walks, and a pretty view.
How did you fall into art?
I have been doing some sort of art for as long as I can remember. I painted my first mural in my cousins room when I was probably 11. It’s just something I always knew I wanted to do.
What’s your favorite medium to work in?
This one is so tricky. I like several different mediums for different reasons but my very favorite is watercolor. I haven’t found the time to do it much lately, but there is nothing like it.
Favorite tool?
Paint brush. Apple pen comes in second though
Any fun projects you’re working on?
This time of year I paint a lot of seasonal themed business windows around my city. It’s a lot of fun to dream up fun designs and spend my day outside painting. I really enjoy it.
What’s something you’d tell your younger self, that you wish you would’ve known sooner?
When I was younger, I was always a little reluctant to call myself an artist. I felt like I didn’t meet the criteria or something. My style is so simple. It’s not some realistic masterpiece. But I know now that that is not true. I’ve always been an artist. I wish I would have had the confidence to believe that sooner.
What do you love to do when you’re not creating art?
When I’m not creating I’m probably hanging out with my girls and just being a mom. They are both so sweet and silly and take up most of my time lol
What’s your favorite social media platform?
Instagram will always be my favorite no matter how much they screw with things. I just love pretty pictures. And I love the community it brings me. I’ve made so many talented, uplifting people like Audrey!

Fun fact: Jen was the one to introduce me to selling books on Amazon! She and I definitely have a love for all the fun fall and Halloween themes this time of year! You've definitely got to go check out her window illustrations she's doing right now-always so good! I wish I could go see them in person! She's also done some pretty awesome wall murals like this one in her daughter's room. Jen constantly amazes me with how much freaking adorable work she is able to put out into the world, she constantly inspires me, and I love how easy she is to talk to.
Grateful for you Jen! Thanks for being my first ever Feature Friday! Go check out her work and let her know how you found her!
